The 6th edition of the Quarry Life Award (QLA) program organized by Indocement has reached a crucial stage with the presentation of project plans by the finalists who are advancing to the research phase. This was accompanied by the signing of cooperation agreements between Indocement and the finalists on January 16, 2025.
This event marks the beginning of a joint commitment to support research and conservation in and around the mining areas. Each project team presented their work plans, including research methods and conservation goals they aim to achieve. The signing of the cooperation agreements after the presentations signifies that all teams are ready to proceed to the next phase.
The finalists will move directly into the fieldwork phase, officially starting their research from February 1 to May 31, 2025. This phase will be a critical time for collecting data and implementing various initiatives that can positively impact biodiversity in and around the mining areas.
It is hoped that the implementation of the QLA Award will generate ideas, innovations, and sustainable solutions that not only benefit nature conservation but also raise awareness among the public and industry about the importance of maintaining ecosystem balance in areas affected by mining activities for a sustainable future.
