Indocement has once again organized the series of activities for the 6th edition of the Quarry Life Award (QLA) competition, held at two plant locations: Citeureup Plant and Cirebon Plant. This competition aims to encourage sustainable research and development in mining areas and their surroundings.

On April 23–24, 2025, the QLA Jury visited the research sites of the finalists at two locations: Cirebon on April 23 and Citeureup on April 24. The purpose of these visits was to hear the progress presentations from each finalist and provide valuable feedback to ensure the research delivers maximum benefits, not only for the company but also for the surrounding community.

During these two days, the finalists presented their initial findings and research developments. The Jury provided constructive guidance and suggestions to help the research progress with more optimal results. Additionally, this event served as an opportunity for the finalists to interact directly with the Jury and gain new insights that could enrich the quality of their research.

With the conclusion of the Jury's visit, the finalists will now continue their research, utilizing the feedback provided. Subsequently, the finalists will prepare a Final Report to be submitted at the end of the research period and presented again to the Jury.

The QLA competition not only serves as a platform for researchers to develop their knowledge and skills but also plays a crucial role in supporting the sustainability of the mining industry in Indonesia. There is great hope that the research outcomes will have a significant positive impact on the surrounding environment and the broader community.

As a reminder, the 6th edition of QLA began in 2024 with the proposal submission stage, followed by a rigorous selection process to determine the projects eligible to proceed to the research stage in Indocement's operational areas. After a series of evaluations, the selected finalists signed a Cooperation Agreement with ITP to commence field research starting in February 2025, with completion planned for May 2025.

Indocement and Heidelberg Materials remain committed to actively contributing to innovations that support industry sustainability and nature conservation through this competition. It is hoped that the 6th edition of QLA will produce research that benefits a greener and more sustainable future.
