Indocement has won an Energy Efficiency Subroto Award 2021. It is the highest award in the energy efficiency sector from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia (ESDM).

The award was delivered by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ir. Arifin Tasrif to the General Manager of Citeureup Factory, Setia Wijaya, and Deputy General Manager of Operation Support, Soegito C. Kurniawan on September 28.2021. Indocement won the "Energy Management in Buildings and Industry - Special Innovation" category after the Citeureup Plant Complex Energy Team submitted an innovation paper entitled "Specific Energy Reduction at Final Milling Plant 14 with Silo Clinker Extraction Management". This innovation has succeeded in saving electricity consumption of 3 million kWh/year and has the effect of reducing CO₂ emissions by 3,500 tons of CO₂ per year.

The Subroto Energy Efficiency Award is a national energy efficiency award event held regularly by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources since 2012, beforehand this award was called the National Energy Efficiency Award (PEEN) before changing its name in 2018. In 2021 there were 177 proposals from all companies that competed to win awards in 4 categories.
