Indocement carried out a series of green initiatives simultaneously across all its cement plant and terminal to commemorate World Environment Day 2024. The theme for this year's celebration was "Restore the Land, Conserve the Water."

During the peak event, activities included a clean-up day and the creation of 370 biopores, as well as the revitalization of 649 existing biopores within the three Indocement plants: Citeureup,Cirebon, and Tarjun. These efforts also extended to the company's cement terminals and the surrounding villages where Indocement operates. Notable attendees at the biopore creation event in the Citeureup Plant included Mr. Ir. R. Soebiantoro W., ATD., M.M (Head of the Bogor Environmental Agency), Indocement Director Antonius Marcos and Holger Mørch, along with 200 employees and other invited guests. Additionally, Indocement organized various other green initiatives, such as seminars on eco-friendly waste management, tree planting, mangrove reforestation, and beach cleanups.

Director Antonius Marcos emphasized, "This momentum increases our collective awareness of the importance of preserving the environment. Every action, no matter how small, has a meaningful impact when done collectively. Let us join hands in safeguarding our planet for ourselves and future generations."

As an environmentally conscious company, Indocement has set a target to reduce CO2 emissions (Scope 1) to 490 kg CO2 per ton of cement equivalent by 2030. A recent green breakthrough by Indocement is the operation of the Ground Mounted Solar Power Plant (PLTS) in the Tarjun Plant Complex, South Kalimantan. This solar power plant has a capacity of 19.7 MWp or 15 megawatts (MW) and is expected to contribute significantly to achieving Indocement's emission targets by 2030.
