On October 10, 2022, Indocement signed a commitment with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Environment Agency to provide RDF, Indocement represented by President Director Christian Kartawijaya, accompanied by Director and Corporate Secretary Antonius Marcos.
This signing held concurrently with the soft opening of the Landfill Mining Waste Processing and Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant Facility at TPST Bantargebang in Bekasi City which was attended by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province, Anies Baswedan; accompanied by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Environmental Service, Asep Kuswanto and several related Directors as well as representatives from other companies.
This cooperation agreement will be followed up by a sale-purchase agreement with the Regional Public Service Agency for the Integrated Waste Management Unit. For Indocement, the process of managing urban waste into RDF in a cement factory is a pivotal step for the nation, because it is one of the solutions to the urban waste problem with the most efficient investment costs and also can reduce CO2 emissions as well as GHG emissions.
The use of RDF for Indocement will also bring multiple benefits to the environment, which is helping to reduce coal use in Indonesia and solving the problem of urban waste. This is in line with Indocement's new purpose, Material to Build Our Future.
