A great chief executive officer (CEO) is a CEO who can demonstrate endurance, creativity, and agility in making the best decisions for his institution, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is not easy to guide an institution on the pandemic, a CEO must dare to make decisions but also must be careful and considerate.

Christian Kartawijaya as the President Director of Indocement managed to meet these expectations, based on studies and surveys conducted by The Iconomics on employees regarding CEOs from their institutions and CEOs from different institutions in the same industry category, therefore he was awarded the INDONESIA BEST CEO AWARDS for the second time. 2021 “Employee Choice” for the Building Materials category.

The assessment is obtained from a combination of four parameters, namely Popularity, Competency, Crisis Leadership, and Personality.

• Popularity concerns how well-known the CEO/Director/President of the institution is;
• Competence concerns how well the competence of the CEO/Director/President as a leader;
• Personality concerns how well the values of the CEO/Director/President as a person;
• Crisis Leadership concerns how well the CEO/Director/President can lead the team to deal with the COVID-19 crisis.

This award which was announced on 23 July 2021 is the second award received by Christian Kartawijaya, previously in 2020, he received the same award.
