Indocement inaugurated Plant 14, a new Tiga Roda cement plant with an annual installed production capacity of 4.4 million tons of cement on October 23, 2016.
Plant 14 was inaugurated by the Minister of Industry of Indonesia, Ir. Airlangga Hartarto, M.B.A., M.M.T., and attended by the Vice Governor of West Java, H. Deddy Mizwar, the Regent of Bogor, Hj. Nurhayanti, S.H., M.M., M.Si., as well as the Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors of Indocement.
The construction of Plant 14 began on March 23, 2013, with the signing of the Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) agreement among Indocement, the Chinese Group Tianjin Cement Industry Design & Research Institute Co. Ltd., and Sinoma Engineering Indonesia as the partner for the construction phase. The groundbreaking of Plant 14 was held on October 10, 2013.
The construction of Plant 14 took approximately 3 years, and the entire funding came from internal cash.
In line with the policy of Indocement and the government, the majority of workers during construction were hired from surrounding areas, ensuring a good relationship with local communities.
Plant 14 has upgraded transportation systems and intermediate storage, including one additional limestone crusher with a capacity of 2,000 tons per hour. Plant 14 also has a sophisticated production support facility, the most modern robotic quality control laboratory to ensure consistent product quality standards, and the world's largest cement packing and dispatch center with five lines of fully automated facilities. The total capacity is 9,000 pallets per day and 360,000 bags per day.
Christian Kartawijaya, in his opening speech, said: “Plant 14 is a production line equipped with modern and energy-efficient facilities. Moreover, Plant 14 is designed to utilize alternative fuels and materials and has a state-of-the-art emission system and environment-friendly production facility with bag filters as effective dust filters in all production lines.”
