Indocement Citeureup Factory triumphs the 2022 Subroto Award for Energy Efficiency which is the highest award in energy efficiency from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). The awarding ceremony held on October 5, 2022 and handed over by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to Deputy General Manager Operation Support, Soegito C. Kurniawan, at Chairul Saleh Building of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jakarta. Indocement successfully wins the award in the category of “Energy Management in Buildings and Industry - Special Innovation” after the Energy Team of the Citeureup Factory submitted an innovation paper titled "Optimizing the Use of Spent Bleaching Earth (SBE) as an Alternative Fuel at Plant 11 of the Citeureup Factory with a Six-Sigma Methodology". This innovation influences at reducing CO2 emissions by 216.88 tons of CO2 per year.

The Subroto Award for Energy Efficiency is a national energy efficiency award event, which is regularly held by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources since 2012, previously this award was named as the National Energy Efficiency Award (PEEN) before changing its name in 2018. Indocement Citeureup Factory is the second time to receive this award.
