Company

PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. (“Indocement” or the “Company”) Indocement officially operated its first plant in August 1975. Over the last 39 years, Indocement has become one of the largest cement producers in Indonesia.

The Company was incorporated on January 16, 1985, through the merger of six cement companies, which at the time owned eight plants.

Indocement was established based on establishment deed No. 227 dated January 16, 1985 made before Notary Ridwan Suselo, SH. The Company’s major business activities, in accordance with the Company’s articles of association, include cement and building materials manufacturing, mining, construction and trading. Currently, the Company and its Subsidiaries are involved in several businesses consisting of the manufacture and sale of cement (its core business), producing ready-mix concrete, and aggregates and trass quarrying.

Indocement continues to increase its number of plants. On February 22, 2013, Indocement has started expansion at Citeureup Factory with an addition line called Plant 14. In total, Indocement has 13 plants, including Plant 14. Most of these plants are located in Java with 10 plants in Citeureup, Bogor, West Java, making it one of the world’s largest integrated cement complexes. Two plants are located in Palimanan, Cirebon, West Java, and one other plant is located in Tarjun, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan.

Indocement first listed its shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in December 5, 1989 with “INTP” as its code. Since 2001, the HeidelbergCement Group, based in Germany, has owned the majority of the Company’s shares. HeidelbergCement is the global market leader in aggregates and is a prominent player in the fields of cement, ready-mix concrete (RMC), and other downstream activities, making it one of the world’s largest building materials company. The Group employs more than 45,000 people at 2,300 locations in more than 40 countries.

Indocement is also listed on the Kompas100, a stock price index created by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in cooperation with the Kompas daily newspaper. Kompas100 stocks are taken from the top 150 stocks based on highest transaction value, frequency, and market capitalization in the regular market for the last 12 months.

With “Tiga Roda” as the Company’s brand, Indocement sold 18.7 million tons of cement during 2014, which made it the highest single entity cement seller in Indonesia. The Company’s cement products include Portland Composite Cement (PCC), Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC Type I, II, and V), Oil Well Cement (OWC), White Cement, and TR-30 White Mortar. Indocement is the only White Cement producer in Indonesia.

In addition of cement sales, Indocement through PT Pionirbeton Industri that produces ready-mix concrete, sold 3.9 million m3 of RMC and making Indocement a market leader for RMC business in Indonesia.

In aggregates, PT Tarabatuh Manunggal, a company 100% owned by Indocement, started its commercial production since September 10, 2014. In addition, Indocement also owns another aggregates quarry through PT Mandiri Sejahtera Sentra.

As of December 31, 2014, Indocement’s annual installed design capacity amounted to 20.5 million tons of cement, 5.0 million m3 of RMC, with 41 batching plants and 706 mixer trucks, as well as the aggregates production capacity of about 2.8 million tons per year with total of 80 million tons of aggregates reserves from its two quarries.

In conducting its business, Indocement continues to focus on sustainable development through its commitment to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from its cement manufacturing process. Indocement was the first company in Southeast Asia to receive Certified Emission Reductions (CER) under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) framework. Indocement is the first company in Indonesia to use granulated blast furnace slag, a waste steel product of blast furnace steel mill, after many years of introduction of blended cement project. These cementitious materials are used to produce cement by reducing the clinker content that reduce CO2 emissions.
