On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, Indocement signed a Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Purchase Agreement with the Regional Public Service Agency Integrated Waste Management Unit (BLUD UPST) of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency. This collaboration is a follow-up to the waste fuel utilization trial that was signed in June 2023.
The collaboration between Indocement and BLUD UPST is proof of the importance of partnerships between the public and private sectors in overcoming the challenges of managing and utilizing urban waste. This is in line with efforts to achieve an environmentally friendly energy transition, in order to achieve Net Zero Emission 2060. Indocement, as the offtaker, is committed to helping the government overcome waste problems in Jakarta. Currently, Indocement is fully ready to receive RDF from Bantar Gebang. The facilities owned by the Citeureup Factory are capable of receiving 2,500 tons of RDF per day.
